Changelog: Week of October 3
Every ride and session, read in full
The rebuilt activity and session pages are now on for everyone, and the pop-up and the Beta switch are gone. A completed ride shows the plan it belonged to, your readiness, HRV and sleep that morning, the wind split into headwind and tailwind, and your fitness and form before and after. When your FTP in Intervals.icu and your eFTP are far apart, it shows the ride at both. A planned session shows what it will do to your week and form, warns about a same-day clash, and gives the weather across your hours outside, fuelling on the session's clock and .zwo, .erg, .mrc and .fit downloads. The story card for a race or a new record now sits on the activity itself for 60 days, ready to share to Instagram. You can also unlink an activity from the planned workout it was paired with. An unplanned morning Zwift race no longer completes your easy ride for the day.
Race plans, climb by climb
Race pace plans now give every climb on your course its own power target, based on your power curve and how long that climb takes you. A two-minute kicker gets a harder number than a 30-minute climb. Climb times and targets are calibrated against real race data, ease a little for B and C races and late in long races, and stay close to your steady power on ultra-distance events. Slide along the course profile to read the planned watts at any point. C races now get the full race plan too, framed as training through. Virtual races get advice on drafting and surges in place of wind and descending. Course pages follow your units, segment names from your race description (a KOM, a sprint, a named climb) land at the right point, and Race Recon now takes course files up to 40 MB. That covers a 1,200 km brevet, out-and-back legs included.
One readiness number, read from your own body
Your readiness now appears as one number, your Readiness Score. The recovery percentage from Intervals.icu or your wearable is no longer shown next to it. Scores from other apps, such as Whoop recovery or Oura readiness, no longer override your own HRV, resting heart rate and sleep when deciding whether to rest. Those devices still supply the raw readings. An HRV drop is now read as a percentage of your normal, so mornings that clearly fall short read red more often. Expect about one more rest day a month. After an illness or injury your plan eases you back in with shorter, easy first days, and returns to normal after two full sessions.
Your plan, your words, in any language
Coaching instructions now switch on the matching setting in every language IntervalCoach speaks. That covers checking with you before changes, the Norwegian method or the Easy Interval Method, ruling out low-cadence work or strength to failure, and time limits such as a longest long run or a weekday maximum. Instructions you already wrote are read again. When your instructions rule out VO2max, threshold or sprint work, it stays out, including inside endurance rides with intervals and your own Intervals.icu library workouts. Days you cleared now read "Kept free" on your calendar, and Rebuild offers to plan them again. Session titles now match what the session asks of you. Off-Season Base and Return to Sport goals train like a real base block.
Coach+
Coach+ can now rebuild your plan for you after you approve a card. It sees which apps and devices you have connected to Intervals.icu, so it can name the actual cause when a ride arrives empty or a workout never reaches your watch. It looks into a problem before passing it to support. It tells you which sessions on your calendar come from your plan and which come from another app. It answers whether a run or ride was a personal best, with the numbers, and it builds an exact workout exactly as you wrote it. A sore knee that stops you running now takes only running off your schedule.
More of your training, recognised
Running personal bests are now recognised at 5K, 10K, half marathon and the mile, next to the ones on the bike. Runs are judged against your Critical Speed if that's what you train on, and threshold runs and 10K races are no longer labelled VO2max. Swimming can now be your main sport. On the web, a triathlon takes a distance per leg, from Sprint to Full. Settings also lets you choose 12-hour or 24-hour times. Settings › Integrations now shows each Intervals.icu connection and tells you which device and switch to turn on when rides only arrive through Strava. The kit vote is open too: pick your favourite of the two jersey designs on the kit page until Thursday 8 October.
Bug fixes & reliability
Your week now adjusts after every workout again. The same planned session can no longer land on your calendar twice. The web app and dashboard load much faster. Workout analysis no longer scores a session as on plan just for matching its length, and a ramp test ridden to failure counts as a completed test with its result. Weekly targets in Intervals.icu and the weekly summary email now match your Training Plan page. Subscribing during your free trial no longer cuts the trial short.
In the iOS & Mac apps
Group sessions, triathlon legs and the route profile on completed activities reached the apps. The app now reads HRV from a single Apple Health source instead of blending several. Your Apple Watch plan no longer fills up with past workouts, and the Coach+ keyboard can always be put away. A race that fails to save now tells you why, and on iPad the race catalog sits in the sidebar.
