Changelog: Week of October 31
Get started with just your phone and watch
Setting up IntervalCoach on the web now has one connect step: your watch or bike computer, Apple Health and Intervals.icu each get the same card, and connecting any one of them lets you continue. Apple Health on your iPhone, or Health Connect on Android, counts as a source on its own. With no race on your calendar you can add one right from the goal step, and it becomes your goal. When you finish, you wait a moment while your first week is made and land on a dashboard with your workouts already on it, and your first days no longer say you are behind for the days before your plan existed. New accounts start in your browser's language, and daily briefings, weekly summaries and nudges begin once setup is done and a data source is connected.
Built around your sport
Runners now get running everywhere: strength sessions are picked and explained for your own sport and fit the time you have that day, Train Now opens on your sport, and fatigue, training-phase progress, race pacing and Coach+ follow your main sport or your goal race's sport ("add an easy 45 minutes tomorrow" adds a run). Analytics predicts your 5K, 10K, half marathon and marathon times from your critical speed and recent best efforts, and a run race page shows your predicted finish time and pace, with the race plan using that same time. Running workouts with power targets are back at the right intensity. Cross-country skiing is now its own sport, on snow, indoors and on roller skis, and cross-country ski and ski touring races have their own filters, race pages and sport in your race setup, so the Vasaloppet is no longer treated as a run.
On your Garmin, Wahoo and Karoo
Changes to a planned workout now reach your Wahoo, Garmin or Karoo within about a minute, whether you edit, move or delete it or Coach+ or your weekly plan changes it. On Garmin direct, workouts show their steps in words in the Garmin Connect calendar (swims too), strength sessions arrive with each exercise by name, common lifts like bench press and trap bar deadlift appear as themselves, lap power is the main field, and a session you move also moves on your watch. Workouts with heart-rate targets as a percentage (such as 72-84% HR) reach Garmin, Wahoo and Hammerhead with those targets. On iGPSport and XOSS, every step now shows its power target. Rides recorded directly from Wahoo, Garmin and Hammerhead show cadence, max power, heart rate, speed and temperature on the activity page and in Coach+.
Smarter plans and a sharper Coach+
Your plan now sizes each session from your own training in that sport over the last three months, so a break or a few weeks of walks no longer shrinks your rides. Base weeks start from at least what you trained over your last three weeks, and a week with two threshold days gets two different sessions. Your next FTP test shows up weeks ahead, with the two days before it kept free of hard sessions. An easy run on a hilly or windy route is judged by your heart rate, so it no longer holds back your next key workout. Coach+ can read your kilometre and mile splits, knows your time in each zone and your indoor FTP, sees your blood oxygen and breathing rate, and can put a workout at a specific time ("tomorrow at 6 pm").
In the iOS & Mac apps
Ski sessions now go to your Apple Watch as cross-country skiing, and you can set your threshold heart rate per sport in the app. Typing in Coach+ is smoother on iPhone.

Bug fixes & reliability
A few more improvements: deleted activities stay out of your fitness and fatigue after a recalculation, pool swims recorded in another timezone count once, and a workout edited with steps like 2:18 no longer gains extra blocks. Marking several days as holiday, sick or injured blocks the last day too and clears those days straight away. You can remove an incorrect wellness reading by date and source under Analytics, Recovery. When Intervals.icu is down for maintenance, your morning workout and analysis wait until it is back instead of failing.
