Set your training schedule: days, sports and durations

Your training schedule tells IntervalCoach which days you train, which sport (or sports) you do on each day, and roughly how long. It's the backbone of every weekly plan and daily workout.

Where to find it

It lives on the Training Plan page, in the Training Volume section — not in Settings. Use the Edit Schedule button there to open the editor. It's in the same place in the iOS and Android apps.

Can't find Edit Schedule?

The Training Volume section is in the upper half of the Training Plan page, above the week-by-week list of your plan. If you scrolled all the way down, you have gone past it. In the Android app the button on that card is labelled Edit.

The Rebuild plan button at the bottom of the page is something else. It regenerates your plan and you don't need it to change your days or the time you have available.

What you can set

  • Training days vs rest days — mark which days of the week you want to train.

  • Sport per day — choose the sport (or sports) for each training day, so IntervalCoach plans the right kind of session.

  • Duration per day — set how long you have available, so workouts fit your real schedule.

Two sports on the same day, and where the gym fits

A day isn't limited to one sport. To do two sessions on the same day, for example a run and a ride on your Monday, add a second session to that day. Each session carries its own sport and its own duration, so the two are planned separately rather than sharing one slot.

Gym and strength work go in the same place: pick Strength as the sport for those days. So a week of run plus ride on Monday, gym Tuesday, run Wednesday, gym Thursday, rest Friday, run Saturday and gym Sunday is set up exactly as written, day by day.

How IntervalCoach uses it

Your weekly TSS target is distributed across your training days, and each daily workout is shaped to the sport and duration you set. Rest days are protected — IntervalCoach won't drop a session onto a day you've marked as off.

Changing it later

Update your schedule whenever life changes. New settings apply to upcoming weeks; days that already have workouts you've started aren't disturbed. For how this feeds into the bigger picture, see Weekly plans and daily workouts: how it fits together.

Notes on your Intervals.icu calendar are not read

IntervalCoach reads workouts, completed activities, races and availability events (holiday, sick, injured) from your Intervals.icu calendar. It does not read notes. A note saying "only easy running this month" or "swim sessions come from my club" changes nothing in the plan.

To limit or remove a sport, edit the training schedule on the Training Plan page under Training Volume: take the sport out of the allowed sports on the days where you do not want it. Sessions you add yourself, such as club swims, stay on the calendar and count toward your training load.
