Coach mode: seats, inviting athletes, and access levels

How the Coach Plan works: seats that cover your athletes, pricing, invites, access levels, and what happens when a seat ends.

Coach mode links IntervalCoach accounts so a coach can see and guide their athletes' training. You'll find it at Settings β†’ Coach as an athlete, or in the Coach area as a coach.

The Coach Plan: seats

Coaching runs on a Coach Plan, which you buy as a coach in the Coach area. The plan is sold by the seat, and one seat does two things at once:

  • it gives one athlete the full Max plan β€” daily adaptation, eight weeks planned ahead, Coach+ chat, race pace plans and benchmarks. They pay nothing and never enter a card;

  • it gives you the coach tooling for that athlete β€” the roster with today's attention list, adherence and readiness against their own baseline, and access to their plan and chat.

Seats cost €10 per athlete per month up to four seats, €8 from five, and €7 from fifteen. Every seat moves to the lower price as your roster crosses a band, so fifteen athletes cost less in total than fourteen. Plans start at three seats, yearly billing gives you two months free, and from forty athletes we price individually β€” get in touch.

Because the seat covers the athlete, being coached needs no subscription of your own. Any athlete, on any plan including free, can be coached.

Adding an athlete

The coach sends the invite, by email or as a link, from the Coach area. Your athlete signs in, accepts, and takes a seat on your plan. Inviting needs a free seat β€” you can add seats whenever your roster grows, and the bill is prorated.

The coach tooling

The Coach area is built around one question: who needs you today? Everything below comes with your seats β€” there is nothing extra to buy or switch on.

The roster and the attention list

Your athletes appear as rows, sorted by who needs attention, with the reason attached: a critical signal, deep fatigue, adherence slipping, stale data, or an adaptation waiting for your approval. Mark an athlete handled and they drop out of the list β€” and stay out until the reason itself changes, not just the number behind it.

The athlete row, expanded

Click any row to open that athlete in place:

  • Today β€” the planned session, whether it's done, and what the athlete actually recorded, with the rest of the week as a strip.

  • Readiness and biometrics β€” a Readiness Score with the last fourteen days behind it, and HRV, resting heart rate and sleep shown as today's deviation from that athlete's own 30-day baseline. You never have to remember whose 57 bpm is high.

  • Adherence β€” prescribed versus completed load over the last four weeks, plus this week's forecast: done, still scheduled, and any shortfall against target.

  • Last workout β€” how effective it was and what the coach's analysis made of it, plus upcoming races.

Since you last looked

The roster keeps a diff between visits: new athletes, attention raised or cleared, adherence dropped or recovered, a week target moved, a race added. Open the page and read what changed instead of re-reading every athlete.

Working inside an athlete's account

With full access you can switch into an athlete and use everything they see: edit the weekly plan, swap or rebuild workouts, move the goal event, and talk in a shared Coach+ thread β€” the AI sees both sides of the conversation when it plans, and the athlete sees your edits attributed to you. Every overnight adaptation is explained, and you can override any of it: the automation makes the daily decision, you stay the coach.

Access levels

Per athlete you choose how much access the coach has:

  • Full β€” the coach can view and make changes to the training, and use Coach+ on the athlete's behalf in a shared thread.

  • View-only β€” the coach can see everything but not edit.

The athlete can change the access level, or end the connection entirely, at any time from Settings β†’ Coach.

When a seat ends

If a coach releases a seat, or the Coach Plan stops, the athlete moves to the free plan. Nothing is deleted: their history, goals and everything they logged stay on their account, and they can pick up a subscription of their own whenever they want the daily coaching back. If the coach starts a plan again, the roster comes back as it was.

Already paying yourself?

If your coach takes you onto their plan while you have a Pro or Max subscription of your own, Settings will tell you: your coach now covers you, and you can cancel your own subscription without losing anything.
